Hello Hollywood

Similar to Hello HAL, Hello Hollywood is a simple WordPress plugin based on the now famous Hello Dolly plugin created by Matt Mullenweg. “[ Hello Dolly ] is not just a plugin, it symbolizes the hope and enthusiasm of an entire generation summed up in two words sung most famously by Louis Armstrong. Hello, Dolly. This is, by the way, the world’s first official WordPress Plugin. When enabled you will randomly see a lyric from “Hello, Dolly” in the upper right of your Administration Panels on every page but the Plugins panel.”

Hello Hollywood is a quick spin-off of Hello HAL created for our associate and client, Rachel Wolf. Rachel Wolf is a screenwriter in San Francisco and has a great love of the cinema. We provided this Hollywood quote generator as a substitution to the strictly science fiction quotes provided in the Hello-HAL plugin.

After installing the plugin, the quotes appear in the upper right-hand corner of your WordPress administration panel. Upon a page refresh or switching administration screens they alternate between a set of predefined quotes. Please note the quotes are not displayed on or within the web site itself, but are restricted to the administration panel.

Hello Hollywood has been updated for users of WordPress 3.0 and is no longer supported on earlier versions.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin and expand it.
  2. Copy the hello-hollywood folder into your plugins folder ( wp-content/plugins ).
  3. Log-in to the WordPress administration panel and visit the Plugins page.
  4. Locate the Hello Hollywood plugin and click on the activate link.
